We started off around 3PM and the weather was perfect. I really enjoy Granite Mountain for some reason. It's just a great mountain with a nice trail and some interesting rock formations along the way. Once up at the saddle we followed cairns the best we could and made or way up to the top of 7626. The views from up there were awesome! After soaking it in for a few we headed back down. On the return we headed over to the Vista point and then Nick showed me the way up to the summit of the rocks that sit behind the lookout spot.
If you wanted to have a great hike and a little scramble without spending as much time this would be the way to go. I'm not saying the actual summit wasn't worth the extra effort because it certainly was. Today for us doing both was in the cards!
On the way back down we got a light sprinkle and a good sunset. Great hike and it was nice to finally meet Nick in person. |
