| partners | | Connecting straight through from Passage 38 I met the boys up top at the north rim. They had driven from Phoenix, I had hiked from the south rim. Our timing was perfect. We got rolling right away and the journey was pleasant and filled with Aspen trees right from the start. While the hike across was hot and a solid workout this one was cool by comparison, and relatively easy.
Upon reaching the turn off for the tower, Bruce, Denny and myself decided to check it out. Clearly this one hasn't been in use for a few years but still stands tall. We climbed it and enjoyed some fine but windy views from above.
Hiking with this group is fun and I really appreciate them letting me join in on their final few passages. |
