| no partners | | For Day 2 of our Labor Day weekend I planned a hike for the kids in Sedona. I hadn't hiked in Sedona in 7 years, which is way too long. Cathedral Rock was a hike that I've seen alot and never done and is seemed short enough for the kids so I decided on that.
the steeper climbing parts were a bit of a challenge for the kids, but fortunately, they both react to that in favorable manner, wanting to keep going and pushing the limits instead of immediately wanting to quit.
At the saddle there was a Forest Service volunteer who gave directions to everyone for the good picture oppurtunities and volunteered to take pictures if you wanted to venture out on the ledge to the west. We took him up on that and got some nice pics. I also took a side jaunt further up to the other saddles bewteen the hoodoos and got some more good pics. This turned out to be the topper to a great weekend of hiking with the kids.
Afterwards we stopped at a pizza joint in the Village of Oak Creek that had an incredible craft beer selection. I took a few home to end the weekend in style. |
