I've been going back and doing trails in the Phoenix area that I haven't hiked for about 10 years, so it's almost like a new hike. This time I went up to McDowell Mtn. Park and did a lasso loop taking the Pemberton Trail south to the Stoneman Wash Trail, north on the Pemberton again and back east on the Bluff and Granite Trails. Got a little hot out but not too bad. Saw more mountain bikers than hikers which is typical for this park any time of year. In past visits to this park I've seen alot of interesting wildlife but nothing this time, other than some snake 15 yards ahead of me slithering across the Stoneman Wash Trail very quickly.
Got some kiddie hikes planned next weekend in Flag for the Labor Day holiday. |
