| partners | | It was going to be a hot day so the plan was to stay near water and Bear Canyon seemed like a good place for that. We hiked in at the Bear Canyon Trailhead and made our way to the Seven Falls area. There were a lot of people on this section but that was expected. Made it to Seven Falls and it really is an impressive section of the canyon although if you want some solitude it’s better to be there on a weekday.
After taking a few pics we moved on up the Bear Canyon Trail and after leaving Seven Falls we only saw one other person. There are some really nice pools above Seven Falls and well worth the hike especially is you want less crowds. The trail all along this canyon is in great shape so you can move quickly.
Finally we got to where the Bear Canyon Trail leaves the canyon and instead of following the trail we headed up stream off trail to check it out. There are some nice pools and we stopped for a long lunch to cool off from the heat that was reminding us that summer is almost here. After lunch we headed up canyon to where we met some friends that came down from the Prison Camp off Catalina Hwy who were also our ride back to Bear Canyon Trailhead and the other vehicle. Great hike…it was hot but nice to see pools in Bear Canyon |
