Inner Basin Trail to Doyle Saddle times 2, with a side trip to Agassiz Saddle for one of us :y: First off, this was our first trip to the Inner Basin / Lockett Meadow areas and wow, what a beautiful place. The plan was to hike up Inner Basin Trail then hike over to Doyle Saddle on the Weatherford Trail. The altitude doesn't bother Ryan like it does me so he made it the the Weatherford junction before me and decided to continue right (Doyle Saddle being left) on Weatherford heading for Fremont and Agassiz Saddle. When I reached the junction I turned left to Doyle's Saddle, the right way. When I reached Doyle Saddle and didn't see Ryan waiting there I was a little surprised. After waiting for several minutes I figured he made the wrong turn so I headed back to the trail junction thinking we would cross paths once he figured he made a wrong turn but I made it to the junction without seeing him. I dropped my pack and hiked down the Inner Basin area till I found a area of loose dirt and closely checked the shoe tracks and could see all recent tracks were heading up, none going down, OK, so he is still up. I grabbed my lunch and had a snack, figured I would wait a bit for Ryan to return. About 20 minutes passed and I saw a female runner coming down from Fremont Saddle so I stopped her and asked if she had seen, hopefully passed, a lone male hiker. Yep, he he just a few 100 feet back. Cool. Once Ryan arrived he indicated that he still wanted to check out Doyle's Saddle so off we went, me for a second time. At Doyle's Saddle we had lunch, laughed about the mixup, and then headed back. Again, a beautiful area and a fantastic hike.

One disappointment was the lack of water. The area appeared very dry, i.e. no running water seen anywhere. Even the water flow from inside the pipes at the watersheds seemed/sounded very light.
