The color is extreme in Lockett Meadow and up the trail, but above the green cabin the leaves are mostly gone--especially on the north slopes. It seems like most people are using the new trail along the mountainside. The road was refreshingly vacant.
Just below the green cabin I could hear running water! The little stream is from the waterline that is free flowing now at the green cabin. It gives a little hint of what was happening on this mountain before the city captured the water. The forest is getting a iittle reprieve until the waterline can be redone.
The wind was cold at the Inner Basin so I didn't stay long. A couple groups were hunkered down eating lunch. I threw back a few almonds and headed back down. |
