It started to rain while we were heading up to the Duchman/Whiskey junction and continued for about an hour or so. Lots of water running in all the creeks and washes which always makes for some good hiking. While we were off trail we spotted 2 white dogs (Blanco and Cup) and 2 hikers (Lee and Jim) off to the right of us so I gave them a shout and we hiked down to meet them and introduce ourselves since I have seen Lee's postings on the site. After chatting with them we parted ways. We had lunch creekside off the Red Tanks Trail then made our way back to the trail head to finish off the loop. It rained on us one more time but for only a short time. Started seeing other hikers near the Bluff Spring / Terrapin junction. |
