Day 2:

The rain stopped around 8am. Unfortunately, one of the tents let in a good deal of water (through the walls, I think). I'll need to Scotchguard it up . . .

The morning was a bit chilly, so we got the fire started with the aid of the dry tinder and firewood I had wrapped in a tarp the night before + some denatured alcohol.

Trimmed the catclaw as I went: south on the Dutchman trail, west on Bluff Springs trail, then south for a bit on the Dutchman again to the Peralta trailhead.

The sun was out for less than 2 hours all day, but I got a few nice pictures during that time. There was a man named Shepherd looking for a hiker he'd lost named Jeff. Shepherd waited for a few hours but eventually went home. Hopefully Jeff got out ok . . .
