| partners | | Sirena and I decided it was time that I knocked the CDO off my "to-do" list - and the promise of post-monsoon lushness made early-September the perfect time. We threw our packs on and spent two glorious days down on the northern slopes of the Santa Catalinas, and I was not disappointed by the beauty and rugged isolation of this canyon. It has definitely seen the brunt of the devastation from the fires and their resulting floods - and there is a good bit of route finding that must be done to keep track of the trail tread. However, if you keep your eyes open and your skills sharp, you should have no trouble.
We brought Lilo, trail dog extraordinaire, as well. She gave the whole experience a definite paws up... |
