Finally completed my goal on the Butterfly trail today, to climb Mt. Bigelow from the Butterfly trailhead. This ends up being a much tougher climb than you'd think. There's a lot of up and down along the way. Total trip is 11 miles and 3150 feet. It's no tip-toe either. This trail has changed a lot since my last time out here. MANY trees have fallen since July. Also the trail is a bit overgrown. I was clawing and falling and plowing the whole day...good times.

There is pretty good color up in the Catalinas right now, all things considered. Water was running nicely along the creek and the falls were the strongest I've ever seen them. Still some flowers hanging on here and there too.

The views from the top of Bigelow are very nice. I'm glad I finally made this climb, I've been turned around for a variety of reasons in the past.
