If you hike any trail in the Catalina Mountains in late summer, make sure it's this one or Marshall Gulch/Wilderness of Rocks. I have been on this trail numerous times (Including with a date when I was 18) and I never get tired of it. I decided to do this trail but only had one vehicle so I made a loop trail that follows the Butterfly trail to Soldier Camp and Then along Catalina Highway to Bear Wallow. From Bear Wallow I took the Bear Wallow Road up to Mount Bigelow, then down to the parking lot at Palisades Ranger Station. The only drawback from this route is that the return trip is so anticlimactic after the Butterfly Trail.
