| no partners | | Couple of the girls that work for me have been asking me to take them on a hike. We finally settled on a day and I figured Browns Peak would be good one considering it's short distance and the amazing views. Only limiting factor would be the chute.
We all met this morning at 9:00 and jumped in one of the girls new Jeep. The road to Four Peaks seemed to take forever but maybe that's because I wasn't driving? Soon enough we were at the trailhead and it was a brisk 47 degrees.
The girls were super excited and off we went. As we approached the saddle we saw a couple other guys heading up. They were at the bottom of the chute and looked a little lost. When we approached them they asked if they were going the right way. Yes indeed I replied. They said "we have to go up that"? Yep, I said with a smile. We went by and they followed.
Turns out they work in a Brewery downtown and one has been to my Scottsdale Restaurant several times. Nice guys for sure. Anyway on the way up the girls got a bit nervous but did just fine with some minor coaching. The guys had no trouble following the girls.
Once on top they were all in awe. I was talking with one of the guys and as it would turn out he recently got into hiking and bought the 60 hikes within 60 miles of Phoenix book. I told him how I had done the same thing a few short years ago.
We all stayed up top for about 30 minutes and then headed down. The girls needed a little assist here but I am sure they would be fine on their own next time.
We decided to head back via Globe where we stopped at Chalos Casa Reynoso for a late lunch.
Good times and it was nice to get out with these two away from work. They had a blast and so did I. |
