| partners | | I've been itching to get out into the western Superstitions. This was my second time on Frog Tanks. The previous trip was on a Tule to Peralta dayhike I thoroughly enjoyed. Today it was nice to see it at a leisure pace in the opposite direction.
Luckily Superstition Wally needed a training hike for a bigger hike. The history tour was free and the company was great. I'm not even slightly exaggerating on the next line. He checked out three old native sites and found pottery at each. One piece was five feet from the trail, the other two not much further. Preston Sands has this magic touch too. Their research skills to results boggle my mind. At one point Wally mentioned he doubted he'd be hiking in five years. I picked up my heart and tried to convince it he was kidding.
Rogers Canyon's lush canopy continues to impress. It's one of the best creek hikes near the valley. Very impressive all the way to Rough/Fish. Then nice to Paradise Canyon. Rising out of Paradise/Fish sheds brownie points at an alarming rate. Luckily the promise land is near. Reavis #109 south always puts a smile on my face. |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated Marsh Skullcap or similar as it seems a bit early. A few other standards. |
