| no partners | | I decided to join my brother on a group jike he planned in the Sedona area on Sat 5/10. The drive up was nice with the desert alive with yellow blooms on the bushes and trees and the white blossoms of the saguaros. We hit the trailhaed about 9 and got underway about 9:30. the younger members of the group, thats everyone but me were headed to the Soldier Trail then back via the Brins Mesa trail. I needed a shorter easier excursion. So I took the Cibola trail then joined the Jordan Trail and headed to the sinkhole which would be my turnaround point. Then I went back along the Jordan trail to the trailhead. It was a beautiful day for hiking with the red rocks and blue sky contrasting wonderfully, which made for a lot of picture stops. The trails provided enough up and down for a good workout in addition to the many wonderful views of the red rocks and some of the expanse of the Sedona area. 2 and 1/2 hours later I was back with the rest and enjoying my lunch. another great hike concluded. |
