I had not hiked the trail since they reconfigured the trail going north to switchbacks instead of the trail that went straight up the hill causing a person to see visions once they got to the top. as I proceeded along the trail I discovered the other amenities that have been added in the form of the memorial benches. Very nice. The views were still just as nice. the grass and small bushes were browned up, no flowers and scattered cactus blooms. I had the trail to myself for the most part. The traffic picked up a little toward the end of the hike. Saw no animals and a few scattered birds to far away to identify. It stayed mostly cloudy with the sun peeking out every so often making it a mostly comfortable trek. It was so good to get out on this trail again. I look forward to next year making it out earlier in the spring. |
