My plan was to take the CMC to trail 25 then take Trail B then join back with the CMC and back to the VC. Note: I did not know Trail B was called that I just remembered thats where it was. It was a beautiful morning for a hike. Anyway I started out as planned but when I got to where tha trail intersects to go down and join the CMC I decided to continue on what I would later find out was Trail A. I am glad I did as I saw some areas that I had not seen before. I was treated to seeing a very large octotillo and a wonderful many armed cactus not far from Thunderbird Rd. I continued on trail A and some how missed the turn that would have taken me back to the CMC. Instead I found myself going all the way to Cave Creek Rd. I then scrambled down to where the CMC trail comes out just beyond the tunnel. I then continued as planned on the CMC back to the VC. The hike took longer than I planned but I did not mind. Saw one rabbit and one quail along the way. The trees were in bloom, not many cactus blooms except for a few saguaro blossoms. |
