| no partners | | Did my 1st backpack trip of this year. Wanted to maybe get some fly-fishing in as well, so I found this hike on here and decided this would be the one. What a workout, it is only about 1.25 miles one way, but it is almost straight down and then back up again. I just recently lost about 35 lbs. in the past couple months and thought I was getting in shape. This hike showed me how much more I had to go.
The trail looks like it had been cleared and all the down trees cut away. I know previous triplogs talked about climbing under downed trees. The actual trail was quite nice. The trek to the bottom was well worth it, the bottom was spectacular and even though the water level was really low, there was plenty of water. Midday was very warm so there was a lot of looking for shaded areas to throw the line in. No luck on the fish, but it is always fun trying. There were quite a few primitive fire ring camping spots all down stream. If I had more time, would like to have gone all the way to Chevelon lake. Will definitely be doing this one again, just maybe a little earlier in the year, to beat the heat. |
