the actual trail designation is #103
It is not as difficult as other sites (including coco natl forest page) claim since you have a mile to descend 700'. Compare that with the Tramway trail that descends the same in only half that distance...
there are small brown trout and thousands of crawdads in the creek so if you go crayfish hunting, by all means discard those invasive bastards with whatever method you wish. I prefer eating them to death.
I had de-virginized my new Orvis fly rod and caught a near 3lb 17 inch Brown when my tippet broke at the last second. There is a very scenic meadow with campfire ring (stocked with empty Bud Light [what else?!] cans in it. Its a great place to bring kids or first timers especially in summer. We witnessed 2 light rainshowers with a high of 75. Pleasant enough, but without the fishing aspect there isnt much to do there since it only takes an hour to reach canyon bottom. (and thats if youre moving really s l o w) |
