| no partners | | I liked the Chevelon Canyon lake /creek so much that I returned again this week.
I Parked by the General Crook campground and took the General Crook to the Carr TH.
Then I took
FR300
FR169
FR180
FR119
Telephone trail
It started to pour about 12:30. Then there was light rain off and on for the rest of the day.
The Chevelon creek is a great area. I got lucky that it stopped raining when I got to the creek.
The area reminds me of woods/creeks of rural Ohio.
I talked to some campers who hiked up to the lake from Telephone trail area.
The Telephone trail is in good shape. The only bad knock is that there are a couple of spur trails that you should watch out for. They may get you down to the water quicker, but they are much steeper have loose dirt that you may ski down.
I found the official route more scenic especially when you drop into the tree coverage.
I wished I had more time to explore the creek/canyon more. |
