This must be close to the ending of the Autumn season around here, tomorrow the weather's supposed to go in the tank with stiff breezes and the potential for rain With that, I had to make one more trip around Coon Lake County Park to capture the colors before they blow off in the winds.
There has been an incredible number of Woolly Bear Caterpillars this fall and the Farmers Almanac uses these guys in their predictions for the severity of the upcoming winter

And they're predicting another nasty, cold winter for this area so glad we're getting out before it gets too late
There were a few others taking advantage of the weather today some walking, some riding bikes through the colorful paths and several kids playing on the swings & slides by the deserted beach. Occasionally a strong gust of cool wind would get the leaves in motion for a momentary blast of color. The high, broken, windswept clouds created a background against the deep blue sky making the colorful Oaks, Birch and Popple (Aspen) stand out even more.
It was a long time coming, but this turned out to be one of the most impressive Autumns in a long time *-*-*-*-*- -*-*-*-*-* |
