I drove east of Superior to do some recon on a couple hikes I’ll do soon.
On the drive back west, I stopped prior to the US 60 tunnel to view Queen Creek, and decided to do an impromptu stroll down the Queen Trail.

Previous highway alignments are a glimpse of the past and are always interesting. I’ve gone down a stretch of ‘pre-aligned’ US 60 north of Dromedary Mtn, and also many of the Rte 87 pre-alignments going up to Payson. What a ride some of those must have been eighty (or more) years ago.
