| no partners | | Took my brother and an extended family cousin for a quick trip up to the top of Mt. Peeley. Their first times up there. We figured that the rain in the valley on Saturday morning might be snow in the higher Mazatzals. We were right. Got a reasonably early start on Sunday morning so we could get back in time to catch the 2nd half of the 2:00PM kick-off games. All went as planned.
The road in was a bit sloppy but the dusting of snow was really beautiful. Trail conditions were very good. Snow on the north side of Peeley and low cloud cover. Very dramatic. A very nice and easy hike in to a wide open 7000' summit with wonderful 360 degree views. You may trust that appropriate libations were imbibed.
I could find no mention as to the identity of Mr. or Ms. Peeley. Seems a shame to have a mountain named for you and have no-one remember who the heck you were. Anybody? |
