It was an interesting weekend of on-again and off-again periods of rain so on Sunday morning as it looked like the rains were finished, I grabbed my cameras and headed for the Mining Camp and some wandering around in the foothills around Siphon Draw Trail. As I was driving past the Superstition Mtn Museum, I spotted the Elvis Chapel sitting under a heavy dark cloud bank that had the upper portions of the Superstitions completely hidden. I hit the brakes and jumped out of my truck with my camera in hand and was setting up for a shot when someone pulled up across the road and yelled at me to get out of the way so they could take a shot.. Ya, Sure.
I continued on to an almost deserted Mining Camp as the clouds were already beginning to break up, and hit the trails. The best scenes had already passed as the clouds drifted off into the distance and crowds of hikers were beginning to fill up the damp trails. I got off a few shots out there then went back to the parking lot for a few more..... wish the clouds has stuck around a bit longer....maybe next time

On every trip into the Superstitions, I find another Gold Mine. Today the mine was filled with Memories. I can not wait for the next trip. |
