| no partners | | I did this on the spur of the moment. I had driven to the Benham Trail to climb Bill Williams Mountain, but as I was getting out of the car it started raining. I could see sunshine to the north so I got back into the car and drove toward it. This was taking me toward Red Butte, so I decided to hike that instead.
I'd been meaning to hike to the top of it for some time.
I had a good time talking to Bruce, the fire lookout, and another hiker who lives in Tusayan. I forgot to take any photos of the fire tower.
On the kiosk at the trailhead is a photo of the fire tower, for which they give credit to hikearizona.com! Anyway, glad I went. I stopped by the air museum in Valle on the way home. Interesting day!
The stock tanks in the area are all pretty full, but muddy. |
