| partners | | I wasn't even sure this hike was going to happen. When my friend & I parked at the trailhead, it had seemed like the storms had passed, but then it started raining again. We waited in the car for about 20 minutes since it seemed like we were at the very edge of the clouds. Finally, I said I was going to at least hike a little bit of Bursera. As usual, I got the "You're crazy" comment from my friend, but she decided to join me anyway. It was the right call, the rain was past, and while there was lightning all around, none was nearby. We hiked to one of the higher spots along Bursera, watched the lightning for about 15 minutes, then hiked back down since it looked like another storm was getting closer from the southwest. Not quite the longer hike I was hoping for, but I was happy to get something in for the weekend. |
