| | | Another New Year Winner! Somehow, I Blind Picked a "Peak" this Year and it was Perfect! I have some Wonderfully Adventurous Souls that also take the Time to Post, to Thank for that! A Search of the Area, found some Triplogs and Photosets for this that looked and sounded pretty Sweet, and it was ON! My Gut Feelings on this were Confirmed when I did a Scouting Trip a few days ago...The Distance, Elevation and Appeal was Spot On, especially this Year.
I had a little Performance Anxiety even on this one, as I've been Off for so long, but everyone was gracious about Carrying "Stuff" and although I didn't carry much, I elected to finally put on the Day Pack, instead of a Butt Pack and it was Fine. Not sure if the Ribs are still broken or not, they feel about the same as they did a Month ago and they were still Broken then... Guess I'll find out next Week... I did ok on this Hike considering... I was pleased that I didn't hold anyone up for too long...
I missed some Familiar Faces this Year, but certainly enjoyed the 3 other Regulars and the New Year's "Newbies"...It was Great to see everyone again and meet Olivia for the first Time! I had only met James once and had never Hiked with him, so it was good to get to know him a bit more too!
I really enjoy the Fact that this Hike has always been Open to Everyone, regardless of their "Speed" and that even the Better, Faster Hikers still Elect to take Part. I really Appreciate the Enthusiasm and Participation in helping me Ring in the New Year in Style... And...It's just Flat Out FUN... Thank you to all that Joined me this Year and I Sincerely hope to see you all Back for Next Year's Hike, wherever that may be... HAZ and it's Members ROCK! |
