My Friend took off for Ash Canyon in the Galiuros and I wanted to see a couple of Areas that I seemed to remember from before and that caught my Attention this Time as well...I was hoping for some Fall Color, but kept my Expectations pretty low. Toughest Hiking of the Trip and even had to do a couple of Bouldering Moves... But I hit the Jackpot....And the Bonus? I chased an Elegant Trogon up a Drainage about 100 Yards...I kept seeing him Fly back and forth, but the Drainage was too thick to get any Photos and I could not get close enough...They are Beautiful Birds.... After I got done messing around in there, it was getting late and I headed over to the Base to get to an Area near Huachuca Canyon. I had seen a Dirt Road there the Day before and it looked like a Sweet Place to grab some Sunset Photos... The Sunset wasn't much, but the Views were really Nice...
By the End of the Day, Clouds were moving in pretty well, and I knew from the Forecast that a Storm was coming and it was Predicted to start Raining later that Night. The Next Morning, I got up and chased the Storm all the Way to the Santa Ritas and Camped in that Area for a couple of Nights and hit some Fall Color there. Those Triplogs will be Forthcoming as well... It was really great to finally get back to the Huachucas though and I'll be back there again... |
