Arrived at the trailhead at 3 am Saturday morning, set up camp, and slept until 8:30 am. Set out on the trail around 9:15. Spent much more time taking pictures than hiking. Made it back to the falls and then headed back. The sky opened up around slick rock and we got dumped on the rest of the way to the trailhead! I've never been more soaked in my life! Got some very satisfying pictures... Were going to camp another night but we ended up heading back towards Phoenix because it was raining too hard and not letting up. Ended up camping at oak flats by Superior on Saturday night.
