With the objective of taking the dog out for a much needed hike and to escape this sudden disgusting heat wave in the valley I headed for the Bradshaws since it's just a hop, skip and a jump from my residence in NW Surprise.

The moment I strolled into Prescott and rolled down my windows I knew I was in for a great day! Cool summer breeze, chirping birds and perfect weather made me anxious to get out and start wandering outside already!

Started at @PeterMedal's unoffiical Mt. Tritle TH and at first attempted to stomp my own way up the mountain and was doing just fine but looked behind me and realized my dog was getting tangled and beat up by the very dense vine like underbrush that completely covered the ground, perhaps it was grapevine?... Anyway I decided to go back down to the SH and make my around and up to the old Sundance Mine and then worked my way up the mountain via what I assume are old mining roads. After the false summit with the off-roader memorial the trail narrows and goes through such a beautiful section of forest, I honestly was enjoying this hike way more than expected and so was the pups.

The views atop Mount Tritle were killer! Was not expecting the summit to be that pleasant, any mountain with a road option to the top has always turned me off but this peak was more than satisfying! I was eager to find and sign the summit register and pick my cards out of the deck Peter put up there but I believe a "Register Robbery" may have occurred! :o
I found the large rock it was supposed to reside by and even plugged in the GPS coordinates and also used Pete's picture for reference to make sure I was in the right place which I was but no register!

Took a quick nap underneath the only large tree on the true summit and then made my way down the mountain but this time hit the sweet " Peter M./ locals/ game trail down to a drainage to meet up with the Hassayampa River. Once down to the river I was greeted by a gorgeous 3 tiered waterfall and a large pool which my dog immediately splashed into to cool off. I made my way upstream until hitting private property so I stayed clear to the right and headed for the hillside and then back down into another drainage which made me end up right next to one of my favorite waterfalls that I visited earlier this year in February. The area I'm referring to is just below the old Senator Mine and is a place I like to call "Senator Falls". This time instead of snow there was a great abundance of moss and lichen all
over the rocks and logs, truly a beautiful little mountain river. Not as much water as last time I was here of course but still enough flow to give the place some dazzle.

I had originally planned to stay in the river bed and make my way back to my SUV that way but I was really starting to feel the previous days squat and deadlift workout, not to mention the 2000ft of AEG.
Did not feel like going over any more logs and rollers so I whimped out and hit the high road and walked down the old Senator Highway back to my starting point.
It was a great day wandering around the underestimated and often overlooked Bradshaw Mountains.
