Went to Mesquite wash with a CAZBA member/friend who loves butterflies :) Apparently this area is good for butterflies. Only one other car as it is a weekend. Was told to avoid on weekends as there will be lot of ATVs. Lot of native morning glory ( scarlet and blue) in bloom. Too bad, no seeds :( . Saw lots of queens, sleepy oranges, cloudless, duskywings along with other common ones. Nothing unusual in terms of sps. Saw lots of white lined Sphinx moth caterpillars who use spiderling plants. Also saw milkweed tiger moth tussock caterpillar. Lots of milkweed vine but no milkweed plants. ....the plants must be somewhere as lots of Queens were there. Saw 2 monarchs. Saw my first viceroy :y:
Lots of people with shotguns are there....my friend wanted to make sure we talked the whole time :o
