This hike goes into Tom's thumb canyon area, then carpooling to 128th st water tank to look for pudding butterflies. Since the areas are off trail, a permit is required by city of Scottsdale. We carried the permit and scouted the area. Rain was in forecast but luckily we only experienced slight drizzle. Most of the time it was cloudy so we didn't see many butterflies. We photographed Mexican yellow(summer form) first time in the conservancy so it will be added to the database 
.
