We thought it would be great to view Canyon Lake from the ridgeline above the Canyon Lake Marina. We began the hike from the Mesquite Flat area at the bottom of the canyon and hiked up the RV road the leads toward the ridgeline. There was a bit of a trail for awhile and a few cairns. It wasn't long before it became total bushwhack through continuous cholla. It did begin to get hot before we got as far as Ron wanted to go, so we tried a 'shortcut' that was not a good choice. We should have went back the way we came up. It was a good adventure and had some terrific views from areas we hadn't been in before.

Wildflowers Observation Substantial
Lots of beautiful flowers hidden amongst the cholla.
