Very nice trails and beautiful scenery on this 10 mile, relatively uncomplicated loop. Nothing very earth shattering about the climb to the saddle, but getting to the summit of either peak or to the eye of the Needle looks difficult and technical. We didn't take any gear and settled for a recon. There is a good bit of water in pools along the way, but none flowing. The loop is fairly straightforward, but there are a couple of places to be alert, especially on the Bluff Springs portion; a map would be helpful.
Nice views of Weavers Needle and great rock formations along the way. Only 6 cars in the lot when we began, but lots of smaller and family groups as we finished. Good day with my buds. |
