I ended up with time to burn so I hit the trail. I got a late start (11am) but a 9mile loop with a few detours wouldn't take long. I first located the writing posted by acarter82 that is off Bluff Spring trail. On the way past Bluff Spring Mountain I decided to look for the site of the old Linesbra mine. The photo I was using only lines up looking up a draw and I finally noticed the spot. I hiked up to the location (mine is filled in) but there wasn't much to see now. The next stop was a detour down Whiskey Spring trail to line up the old crash photo(1961). I realized the angle is wrong but I wasn't on horseback so unless I bring a ladder it's tough to duplicate the shot. The hike out was nice and the weather was great in the sun and cool in the shade. There were several people out hiking but plenty of parking in the lot.
