| no partners | | Unfortunately, this was Recon 4 for our attempt to find a way to cross Pusch Ridge from Alamo Cyn to Pima Cyn. We made it to the junction where we got off track last time, but I didn't have the gas to try the last 1000 feet up to the saddle. I'll blame my cold from the previous weekend and the copius flowing water in the canyon which made every step an adventure and walk-arounds routine. The wet rock made what was easy the last trip difficult and risky this time. From our highest vantage point, we could see the entire chute for the first time, which had a good bit of vegetation, but may not be possible without considerable gear. Coming down, we needed the rope at one point. That upper canyon is not fun when it's wet.
This area is now off limits till May 1st, so it drops off our radar for a while. |
