It wasn't raining in Gilbert when I left. This was going to be another Boulder Canyon loop, but the increasing rain encountered at Garden Valley convinced me to hang a left, drop down into First water, then head back to the car. Garden Valley isn't too muddy until after you make that left heading for FW. Yuck! Took a short break at H.B. spring to see if the rain would let up. Nope, just rained a little harder. I actually enjoyed the many tiny waterfalls along the canyon, they were all flowing to some degree and since they are on both sides of the trail, it was like stereo sound.
