| no partners | | We car camped at the Tule TH Thursday night and started for Reavis Friday morning. It was my first time on Tule and Two Bar Ridge. The trail conditions were pretty good on both, Two Bar packs in some serious elevation fast. Reavis Gap trail was in good shape and provided more opportunity for elevation gain. We arrived at Reavis Ranch 13.8 miles in and got a typical cold Reavis night, a low of about 25.
Saturday morning we headed out on the Reavis Ranch trail over to Frog Tanks, down to Rogers and onto the JF trail, ending at the Tortilla TH for the night. The Frog Tanks trail is more of a game trail in places, overall not very hard to follow but plenty of catclaw. The section of Rogers Canyon trail leading over to JF is in great shape, easy to follow. The first few miles of the JF were in less than ideal conditions in many places but gets super easy as you get closer to the TH. Ended at 17.2 miles for the day.
Sunday morning we started to make our way to First Water, slowly at first. We took Peters trail down to the Dutchman trail, over on Bull Pass and back onto the Dutchman for 4 more character building miles. Peters trail is in great shape thanks to efforts of some great volunteers. Smooth sailing all the way in on the last day.
There is water everywhere out there right now, I never went more than 2 miles without finding water. Great time of year to get out in the Supes. |
