Managed to get a hike in while it was still cool this morning. Lots of people near the trailhead, but then pretty much no one else after that. We went up Lost Mine, east on National, side trip up Goat Hill, then down Pyramid. There's a section of poppies on National, on the first hill to the east of the Ranger jct.

Daniela had asked me how often I clean my water bladder. My answer??? "Never." She repeated, "Never?" My reply was "Never. I might rinse it out if it had creek water in it, but that's it. I never clean it." She was relieved and said that she never cleans hers either. Must be okay, because we're both still alive!
