| no partners | | Decided to finally do some exploring up Spring Canyon ... planned to travel a few miles up canyon to what I thought was a picnic area and restroom building from my google earth planning.
Parked at S.C. day use area - took a quick look at the very impressive river first. It's high, high, high!
The first mile of the canyon was quick and uneventful, then I was slowed down by a few fun route-finding puzzles. Eventually I came to a wall of vegetation and decided that further travel up canyon was impractical.
I bailed out on canyon right and made a long climb up to the jeep track I saw on google. Followed that for a while, then dropped back down into the canyon to the picnic area - which wasn't. It was solar panels and a building that wasn't a restroom - not sure what it is all about.
Back up to the jeep track, glorious easy walking, picked up five cans along the way ... never saw anyone,had a great day. I am so glad that some empty spaces like this still exist. |
