There is a lush natural desert garden on this bench as well as much evidence of habitation by the ancients. The Mexican Poppies were on display but the cooler weather we have had in the last month slowed down the appearance of many other flowers. I took a different route from previous expeditions to this area going down a long gently sloping hillside. There I discovered what appeared to be terraced garden plots used 700 years ago by the Indians. Also many petroglyphs as well as pottery sherds everywhere. It was a good day. |
