| no partners | | | Went on a 7 day car camping trip to the sky islands in the Safford area. First destination was the Mt Graham Wilderness in the Pinaleno Mountains which rise up to 10700 ft. It was raining/snowing off and on the first couple of days but I managed to get in a six mile hike on the Arcadia Trail from my camp at the 6700 ft elevation level near Arcadia Campground. I didn't complete the entire trail. After going 3 miles and reaching an elevation of 8200 feet the thin air was starting to really slow me down and a storm was moving in so I headed back to camp. This area was a little too civilized for me with a paved road and nice camp grounds so on the next day I drove west to a remote valley between the Pinalenos and the Galiuro Mountains. |
