This is one of those trails I usually do from my trip down from Manning Camp. By the time I get to this portion of the trail I am tired and hot and as a result do not have a lot of fond memories of it. But this time it is different, only going to Juniper basin. The trail is in good condition and easy to follow. Winter or early Spring is the best time for this hike because it has a lot of exposure. There is no water except at Juniper Basin unless you go after the Ridge has received a snow fall (or summer monsoon, but I can't imagine being on this ridge in the summer).
