| no partners | | This is one of those trails I went on with a friend from High School and after this hike he never spoke to me again. I never thought to tell him it was a long and steep trail (went from Finger Rock to Mount Kimball and down Pima canyon). I just assumed every body hiked like me. So in this description I will tell you it is steep and fairly lengthy. The views from Mount Kimball are great in all directions, but it's not the views that intrigue me about this trail it's the canyon itself, so narrow and ever changing as you climb up. I was attempting to cross over to the Saddle in Ventana Canyon but lost the trail midway from Mount Kimball to Ventana Saddle, it's not heavily traveled. There was snow covering the ground along this portion of the trail on the north facing slopes, so this added to the difficulty in locating the trail. I have since been on this portion of the Finger rock trail and found the trail easy enough to follow so I don't know what my problem on this hike was. |
