I never get out that way, so while everyone else went swimming -- I went hiking! Only had about an hour to spend, figuring on the time to get to the trailhead and back. Some okay views to the east, but the first part of the trail was kind of disappointing; even after the half-mile or so in the subdivision starting out, there was a lot of down-into-a-wash then back-up-out-of-the-wash, then down another wash, and so on. Turned onto the Sonoran Trail when I reached that junction, and followed that to get more of a view until it was time to turn around. A noteworthy thing was the amount of dried-up foxtails carpeting the hills out there! Sure glad there was a trail through that. |
