I first stopped at an area I've been to a few times before. Lots of pottery scattered around and the first time I went there I found a nice arrowhead. This is the second time I've come back and not been able to relocate the arrowhead though. I'm a little afraid that someone used my original posted GPS track to collect it. Sure hope not - wouldn't have been easy but not impossible.
Dropped down to the creek to look for petroglyphs at the string of pools visible in the satellite pictures. Turned out to be plenty though not many impressive ones. Like I'd seen in some of the other nearby drainages they were mainly two types: 1) very old, deep, repatinated ones and 2) more modern ones emphasizing men on horses.
Good day though it felt a little warm and I set no personal speed records. Saw a couple elk cows. |
