| partners | | Bruce invited me to join him on a hike up north in the pines. This was a rest hike for him (only 10 miles) but it would be the first hike of the year where I made it to double digits in mileage. A win for both of us; Bruce gets a breather and I get a challenge.
This was my first trip on the Pine Cyn trail since the reroute not too long ago. I love it. Great trail with nice views. The new switchbacks are a big improvement over the section after Dripping Spring. It was also my first time past the East Rim Trail so I got to see a little more of the trail.
Bruce left us an option to explore a little farther up the trail to Parsnip Sring, but I didn't want to push it anymore than the 10+ miles. We took the Bearfoot trail, which was another first for me, for the last segment of the hike.
We finished up around lunch time and headed out for a sandwich and a cold beer (okay two). Perfect.
