First hike of the day was the Sandy Seep Trail. Got on the trail around 9:30 to a steady drizzle of rain. It was cloudy throughout the Flagstaff area so we we were uncertain how long conditions would last. But we decided to take a chance. This is Arizona and we figured that the odds were in our favor that conditions would not worsen and would not last for too long. And we were right . The rain never got worse and had pretty much stopped as we were turning around at the Christmas Tree juncture. By the time we got back to the car we were practically dry. Trail was very easy to follow. There were several side trails that piqued my interest, most were unofficial user trails, though there was one legitimate connecting trail that was called the Loop Trail that headed off toward the west. Didn't get a chance to check out any of these side trails so a return visit is in the works. Nice doable hike for the whole family. Saw 5 other hiker/trail runners in the rain....most were finishing up as we were starting. No wildlife.
