| no partners | | With the Saturday morning Yardaggedon out of the way, filling mine,my mom's and some nice neighbors garbage cans ( with their consent), it was time to check on conditions to the south. Still have more than a few spots to check, and this was a mishmash of old and new little places. Did not go to the 10th cav site, saving it. I knew it was going to be a sweatfest, with 60% chance of rain, and true to form warm and humid in the day, with the big storms rolling in after noon. Got underground, several mines, a couple of new ones, one to come back to my super light crashed right at a collapse that I could crawl through but without really good light decided to come back another day.
Lesson, very large bats wing beat echos underground and makes you think people are in there with you. Not a minor consideration near the border.
Getting green, flowers are starting, a fair amount of water, lots of border patrol this day, saw about 6 vehicles, parked around the corner from a surveillance station and thought about sneaking up but didn't want to get shot.
A hidden area I was pleased to see with the growth unless you knew it was there, no traffic. Formations are continuing to form, esp on the floor. Very careful walking now is required.
One mine opening a wasp nest was in a crack. I could not see it but saw a wasp fly in and out. They were humming so much it was like the area near the opening was vibrating. It was weird, I went by it but did not stay long.
The storms came in and driving home was surreal, I was surrounded with black skies, thunder, lightning, but drove in a dry bubble almost to the interstate.
