No trail, many miles of boulder/ rock hopping, and of course bushwacking. I am really tired still. Weather could not have been better. Good water, and solitude. Some of the side canyon ascending was challenging solo. Rough limestone makes for great grip for boots though, just don't cut yourself.
Sometimes I am feeling older and I wanted to get this done before my physical conditioning might not allow such. However I got my comeuppance reading about how Harvey Butchart did a lot in this area in his late 60's and even into his mid 70's!
Lots of photos and had some trouble with exposure with the camera so will see. Not going to be as good as my previous set though, I am sure, just different.
So thankful for this opportunity, and now with different plans for adjacent areas. And the terrain looks way harder-- I guess I never learn.
Note to self, when you decide to pioneer a new route through almost vertical cliffs on the exit canyon--don't. |
